Why Sports

Sport builds well-rounded students and plays a vital role in life at ACG Strathallan. We strongly believe in the importance of regular physical activity and the benefits it can have towards mental wellbeing – and we know that young people who are regularly physically active are more likely to lead a healthy life and excel at their studies. Not only that, but playing sport develops lifelong skills including confidence, persistence, resilience and teamwork.

Hugo holds a B.Sc(Ed) in Mathematics and Computer Science, a B.Ed(Honours), and a Master of Education (M.Ed), reflecting a strong academic foundation and personal dedication to lifelong learning.

Beyond the classroom, Hugo has made a significant impact in the sporting arena. His extensive background includes roles as a coach, manager, and umpire across rugby, cricket, hockey, and volleyball. They believe that increasing student involvement in co-curricular activities not only supports physical wellbeing but also enhances academic success. Their goal is to ensure all students and teams are given the tools and encouragement to strive for excellence while maintaining a balanced, fulfilling school experience.
